Accessibility Statement

The Jeweler wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification, or other assistive technology.

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. The site has not had a formal accessibility audit, and we do not claim that it fully meets the standard. This statement says what has been checked and what we know still falls short.

What we've done

Every page has a "Skip to content" link, a heading structure and landmark regions that screen readers can navigate, and a visible focus outline that shows keyboard users where they are.

The menu, the gallery, and the contact form work with a keyboard alone. The gallery viewer and the "message sent" notice keep keyboard focus inside them while they are open, and the phone menu closes with the Escape key.

Text colours were measured against the WCAG contrast ratios in October 2026, and the gold and grey text that fell short was darkened.

The site follows your device's reduced-motion setting: animations are switched off, and the videos on the pages, which play without sound, do not start by themselves. A video opened in the gallery viewer has its own play, pause, and volume controls.

On 9 October 2026 every page was checked at phone, tablet, and desktop sizes, from 360 to 1920 pixels wide, in an automated Chromium browser with touch turned on. No page scrolls sideways, buttons and links on touch screens are at least 44 pixels tall, and form fields are large enough that iPhones do not zoom in. The problems that check found were fixed: the gallery viewer on phones, the phone menu in landscape, and gallery titles that only appeared on hover.

Known limitations

The October 2026 checks used automated browsers, not real phones, and the Safari (WebKit) check was not finished. Problems that only show up in Safari on an iPhone or iPad may remain.

Some photographs have brief or generic descriptions, and the videos have no captions or text description.

The map on the Visit & Contact page is Google Maps, which we cannot make fully accessible. The shop's address, phone number, and a plain link to directions are always shown next to it, so nothing is only available inside the map.
